Expertise provided by Dominic Roy
Dominic Roy is a forest engineer. He graduated from the Université de Moncton with a Bachelor's degree in Forest Sciences and holds a
technical degree in Forestry Management that he obtained from Cégep de Sainte-Foy in Québec. He has over 15 years of experience, among
which eight are as a forest engineer. His extensive work experience is very diversified and touches many aspects of the field, including
business consulting, performing forest inventory, geomatics and work for private foresters.
As a trainee for the Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) program at the Ministère des Ressources naturelles du Québec (2000), he wrote
a guide on SFM that reviewed and applied the new laws in forestry. This work experience averred very interesting. In order to continue
this new line of interest, he wrote an essay titled “Exigences en matière d’aménagement forestier durable” that was submitted as the
final project of his engineering degree.
In February 2002, he joined Foresterie Saint-Donat as a forest manager. He managed the public forests for the Forest Management
Contract department. During these years, he was also a forest adviser for Multi-Resource Forest Management department.
Enjoying the field of forestry and applying the strong knowledge that he acquired over the years, Dominic started his own company
in September 2008. His company offers excellent and diverse forestry services to customers from all the regions of Québec.
